Collect-A-Con... whoa!
My favorite part was getting to meet Charles Martinet and Eric Stuart. Charles is the voice of Mario, Luigi, Wario and Waluigi. Eric Stuart is the voice of Squirtle, James and Brock from Pokémon and Seto Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh! Charles actually did the voice of Waluigi (My favorite Mario character) the entire time! Such a cool experience! Eric Stuart was also fun to meet, considering how big of a Blastoise fan I am.
I got Paige O'Hare and the Kevin Smith autographed Funko Pops incased which are available now. The overall PSA in person experience was meh. Nothing special and nothing that I didn't like either. Actually, went pretty quick, I dropped them off at the beginning of the show and they were ready in about 1-2 hours. Pretty easy. I did have to run back to the car to drop them off though lol.
The con as a whole was a super big Pokémon and MetaZoo fest. Which I loved, just wished there were more Funko Pop booths! I counted 3 total at the entire con. Whatnot was right in the middle doing a couple streams but nothing really con related. They had 3 glass cases for upcoming features. Got to meet Craig (whatnot) and Travis (GoingTwice) who were both super nice guys!
MetaZoo for me was definitely a highlight! Picked up a plushie, and a quite a few boxes of Seance and UFO. We went live last week with 1 of the boxes for Seance and sold fairly quickly! The lines were crazy long for MetaZoo product and almost longer for the autographs from the MetaZoo artist. Wish I would have gotten a few things signed!
Pokemon had some pretty big names there like, Eric Stuart (Squirtle, Brock, James) Erica Schroeder (Eevee, Nurse Joy, Sylveon, Flareon) Sarah Natochenny (Ash Ketchum, Chansey, Buneary, Diglett) Jason Paige who actually performed both days! Gary Haase, and tons of booths. One booth even had roughly $500,000 worth of product in cases! Insane! So many rare cards and slabs. Pokémon definitely had the most at the con.
I even got to meet Dr. Applesauce who is awesome to watch on YouTube every week! We even saw him get a tattoo of 'Collect-A-Con' on his thigh! Super nice guy and super down to earth!
This was the first time I was able to attend the con and it didn't disappoint. I highly recommend attending, and highly recommend getting the VIP pass for both days. It ran roughly $150 for both days. But the perks of the VIP pass were amazing! Each person that I wanted to meet/ get an autograph from I was able to get to the front of the line. They had a line specifically for the VIP pass. I was front and center during the Vanilla Ice concert and was able to do a meet and great! Not to mention the 1-hour early entrance!
Alpha Clash also had a both there. They are a new TCG that are going live next month. Be sure to follow them on Instagram and Kickstarter for more information. They have some super cool artwork and I expect them to be pretty big!
Depending on how things go, we expect to get a booth there next year! If you went to the con be sure to tell us about your experience in the comments below!
